While attending a full day of training to become a Communities in Bloom Provincial Judge, we were privileged to enjoy a guest speaker. Grant Pearsell, Director of Parks and Biodiversity for the City of Edmonton, gave an inspiring and informative talk about the connectivity of community with both natural and cultural history. It got me thinking about my own community of Lethbridge and the many attractions and venues that meet this criteria. Many were brought about through civilian investment of time and labour. They combine cultural history and the natural environment. The marriage preserves and promotes for a better understanding of those who utilize these great spaces. Perhaps when the weather warms up a bit – if spring ever arrives – you can bring your family, youth groups, schools groups and visitors to the centre.
Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at Indian Battle Park or also take in the Museum attractions.
