Advice on Watering Trees

How much do I have to water my trees? Customers asking for advice on watering trees is one of the most common questions I hear from home owners.  In our region, drought conditions are common.  People often set their irrigation cycles for their turf and not their trees.  This leaves your trees thirsty. Here is a quick and easy way to water smaller trees, particularly those you have just transplanted. A tree needs about 5 gallons per inch diameter. Watering Tip !

For larger trees you can purchase watering bags that hold  up to 20 gallons – with zippers that allow you to chain them together until you get the volume that you need to fit the diameter of the trunk.
